GENERAL APPLICATION TIPS
When you’re being photographed, a generous application of foundation products is vital. Don’t make the mistake of being too light-handed with the application of your Dual Active Powder/Foundation. The makeup will settle after about thirty minutes, leaving a beautiful, smooth complexion, never a “powdered” look. Refresh your foundation by smoothing your skin with the sponge that comes with the Dual Active Powder/Foundation, then add more if needed.

To prevent your eyeshadow from dusting your under-eye area during application, use a moderate layer of baby powder under your eyes. When you’ve completed your application, wipe the powder away and go over the area with your Dual Active Powder/Foundation to smooth your complexion.

CONCEALER
If you will be using the recommended dual application of liquid foundation topped with powder foundation for your portraits and wedding day, this product should be applied after the liquid foundation, set with a translucent or light powder, (baby powder will work) then the wet/dry powder foundation should be applied.

If you are concealing blemishes, though, Rae recommends using thickened foundation, instead of concealer.

DUAL ACTIVE
Rae uses this product over her liquid foundation for portrait sessions and weddings. The combination of the two products provides unbelievably long-lasting coverage and a flawless complexion.

It is ideal for outdoor weddings and shoots in hot, humid climates where oil breakthrough is a concern. Don’t forget to use foundation and Dual Active Powder on your eyelids, too. The combination produces an excellent shadow base

EYE SHADOW
For a dramatic effect and the longest wear, wet the lightest color in any combination and sweep it over the entire lid. For soft romance and subtle shading, use the shadows dry. You can layer on more to deepen the intensity.

To line your eyes, use these powders, wet or dry, with the eye liner brushes Rae offers. Pencil liners will melt, run and fade throughout the course of the day. These shadows stay put, ensuring you’ll look fresh well into the evening!

FOUNDATION
If your preference is light coverage, use this product on a sponge dampened with water or sunscreen. For moderate coverage, use it on a dry sponge. For full coverage, allow a few drops to sit out briefly to thicken, then apply it with a dry sponge or with your fingertips.

Thickened foundation is also Rae’s preferred method for concealing blemishes without furthering the problem by adding oil to an already irritated area. For the most natural looking foundation application, always blend under your jaw and down onto your neck. Try to keep your foundation light around your hairline. The finish with this product is classic, soft matte.

REFINING SEA MASK
For deep cleansing, gently massage your face for 15 – 20 minutes with a light oil, followed by a gentle steaming, then a mud mask. Never mask the day of an important event. Oil production is at its peak after deep cleansing, which will help to purge impurities from your skin. Do this in the evening or on a day when you don’t plan to wear foundation.
